Children and Youth

Purpose of Youthwork

The principle aim of youthwork at St Swithuns is, in a fun way, through games and activities, to give children an introduction to Christianity which will help them to make their own choice. If you want to know more about any of the following activities please contact us using the email link at the left of the page.

Toddler Hour

Toddler

Toddler Hour is a group for babies right through to older toddlers (and their parents/carers) that meets in the church on the second Monday in the month. Come and have a cup of coffee with local parents and children in an informal group . Each month there are organised activities based on a bible theme (in a low key way!) - and lots of fun. Lots of age-appropriate songs, crafts, activities, dancing and stories. It's a great opportunity to get out of the house on a day when there is little else going on!

Family Service for All ages.

Family

On the first Sunday of every month at 10am we have a Family service. The service is for all ages and children remain with us throughout.

Childrens Creche for Under 3's

There is a creche for the under threes in south aisle during every 10am Sunday service. There are quiet toys and books and the area is supervised. Parents are free to stay and play with their children. A more private area is available in the upper room. The service is relayed into the room.

Stepping Stones (7s to 10s)

Children of ages 7 to 10 meet at the same time as the younger group but in the St Nicholas room.

Pebbles (3s to 7s)

Pebbles

Children between the ages of 3 and 10 meet every Sunday (except the first in the month) in the Upper Room during the 10am service. About 15 minutes in the children are whisked off for teaching, games, singing, craft and lots of fun. Parents are welcome to join if their children need company.

Rock Solid (10s to 14s)

Rock Solid is a group for over 10's. It meets every Sunday (except the first in the month) at 9:50am in the Parish Rooms just along Church Street (must be brought by an adult). Each session consists of games, crafts, quizzes, singing, teaching and discussions. Afterwards the young people are brought back to church by one of the Rock Solid leaders.

SCubed (14s – 18s)

Scubed is for young people in year 10 and over (14 – 18 year olds). We aim to meet on Saturday evenings about twice a month to enjoy a good laugh, silly games, socials, events and to explore and celebrate the Christian faith.

The group is regulated by OFFYOUF, the regulatory Body for St Swithun's Church, Bathford. Please note that the quality of games, jokes and food are liable to seasonal fluctuation. This does not affect your statuary rights or your no quibble 30 day guarantee. Remember that your home is at risk if you set fire to it.
