Pierced for our transgression
On Wednesday 5th March at 7.30pm Steve Jeffery, the co-author of the book Pierced for our Transgression will be visiting St Swithuns to help us to understand why the Cross is so central to our faith, and what exactly Jesus achieved there. When the doctrine of the atonement is being challenged so forcefully, we need to be clear what the Bible actually teaches us about the Cross of Christ. The meeting is organised by the Bath & Wells Evangelical Fellowship.
What happened to the shoeboxes?
If you filled a shoebox for Operation Christmas Child last year, if you knitted some of the wonderful hats, mittens and puppets which were used as extra gifts, or if you would like to find out more, and wonder how you can get involved with the appeal later this year, you are warmly invited to the Shoebox 2007 Review Meeting on Wednesday, 5th March at the Methodist Church, Fortescue Road, Radstock at 7.30 pm. A presentation “To Serbia with love” will be given by Eileen Hinton who joined an Operation Christmas Child Team distributing shoeboxes to deprived and needy children in Serbia this winter.
